Follow new updates and improvements to FulGaz.

January 16th, 2026

Q1, 2026

Hey everyone,

And Happy New Year! As is now the tradition, the first FulGaz Friday of a new quarter is a quarterly special. So let’s take a moment to reflect on where FulGaz stands today and what’s coming next.

From now on, FulGaz Friday will move to a quarterly format. And having just written that, maybe we should start calling it something else going forward. You’ll still get weekly updates via the Fulgazette every Tuesday from Klem. Any relevant info I used to share here will be included, so same transparency just lighter on your inbox. And don’t worry, feedback.fulgaz.com isn’t going anywhere but more on that below.

So let’s get into it.

Where FulGaz Stands

As of the end of 2025, we’re at nearly 16k subscribers which puts us a bit over a 20% drop from where we started post acquisition. While we didn’t hit the 20k target we set for the year, we’re still sitting around the 80% retention threshold we originally committed to for continuing to run FulGaz as a standalone app.

In Q4 we ran a solid marketing push to try and scale up but the learning was clear. Real growth would require a full rebuild of FulGaz’s core business engine. To be honest, that wouldn’t make the experience any better for current subscribers. So we’re not pursuing it. Instead, we’ll double down on stability, reliability, regular content and a community-led experience. And as long as it stays economically viable, we’ll keep going.

Where’s the line? With over 70% of you on annual plans, we’re in a solid position heading into 2026. So here’s my call to action to you —> if you’re still on monthly, consider upgrading to annual plan now. Not only is it more economical for you, it gives you a +1 seat and gives us more predictability we need to keep planning ahead.

Product Development Focus

In the last few months we shipped two new versions of the FulGaz app which introduced Gradient Preview and resolved dozens of bugs. Behind the scenes, we rebuilt core systems to support stable 4K streaming and removed legacy dependencies. That means a cleaner and more maintainable setup.

We’re now several weeks into version 7.0 which is targeted to roll out by the end of March 2026. This will be a major technical upgrade focused on Bluetooth connectivity improvements and a migration to .NET9. While that may sound technical this unlocks our ability to fix more than a dozen of the top voted bugs on feedback.fulgaz.com. Simply put the app will work better based on what you’ve told us matters most.

And that’s where 99.9% of our development focus in 2026 will go, fixing what should already work. If you log a bug on feedback.fulgaz.com or report one via the Facebook Group or to Customer Care, it will all eventually be logged here and prioritised by your upvotes. The Fulgazette will highlight these too so you can help decide what gets fixed next.

We’ll also keep involving you in testing these new versions before full rollout which will be especially important before 7.0. Expect an update from Klem in the Fulgazette in the coming weeks.

5,000 Kilometres of New Content in 2025

When I talk about “what should work,” I mean the app itself because FulGaz’s stunning content is what certainly works great and truly drives this platform. And for all that a huge thank you to all our ride contributors.

Since our reboot in April 2025, we’ve released nearly 200 new rides covering almost 5,000 km from all around the world, adding new countries and new contributors along the way. As a thank you, every ride contributor on an annual plan will receive a 6 month extension to their FulGaz subscription. Klem and Pete will be in touch soon and going forward, this same reward will apply to all new contributors as soon as your first ride is published.

So thank you again, from all of us on the FulGaz team and all our riders.

That’s it for this quarterly update. I’ll be back with the next one in April. In the meantime, keep the feedback coming, stay safe and keep riding.

December 2025

Hey everyone,

How was your week? Time for the final FulGaz Friday of 2025. It’s certainly been a ride this year but I’ll save the retrospectives for our next quarterly update in the first half of January 2026. For now, here’s a quick look at what’s new behind the scenes.

In FulGaz Friday #31 we rolled out app version 6.0.5. As part of this release we removed support for HLS streaming which means videos now default to 1080p in the app. You can still adjust this setting up or down depending on your preferences of course. Over the past couple of weeks we’ve also cleaned up all remaining dependencies tied to the old streaming and storage setup. As a result, if you’re still using version 6.0.3 or below you may notice the initial video preview during app loading is no longer shown. This isn’t a bug just a byproduct of that change and I strongly recommend updating to 6.0.5 on your preferred platform. It’s not a mandatory update but it’s definitely a better experience going forward.

On to what’s next, we’ve now started work on version 7.0. which we’re aiming to roll out by the end of March 2026. This one will be a significant release addressing a number of known bugs. It includes key upgrades most notably to Bluetooth functionality and a migration to .NET9. While that may sound a bit technical it will directly tackle more than a dozen highly upvoted bugs on feedback.fulgaz.com many of which stem from these underlying systems. Simply put, the app will work better based on your feedback and the most common issues we’ve seen.

And that’s it for this week and for this year. Enjoy the holidays wherever in the world you are, Merry Christmas and keep riding!

~Erik

P.S. Last week’s cover ride was Cairn O’Mount by Ian Downie. It’s a decent climb especially towards the end and takes just over an hour through Scottish Aberdeenshire. Can you guess this week’s? It’s another one from our latest ride drop earlier this month.

December 2025

Happy Friday,

Hope your week’s been a smooth ride, it’s time for an update from the world of FulGaz.

Earlier this week we rolled out the latest app version, 6.0.5 is now available on all platforms! This is a followup to our October release where we introduced Gradient Preview for the first time. Based on your feedback, this update improves the colour density to show more detail on elevation changes, now following this scale:

  • <0.5%

  • 0.6 - 2.9%

  • 3 - 5.9%

  • 6 - 8.9%

  • 9 - 11.9%

  • >12%

We also introduced Gradient Preview on the Members Portal to help with ride planning too. Since it’s independent from your FulGaz app settings, you can keep it enabled on the web while staying in Neutral Mode in the app with scenery uninterrupted. Ultimately, you’re in control of your preferences!

This release also includes a set of bug fixes prioritised based on your inputs through feedback.fulgaz.com:

Also worth noting is that with this release we’ve removed support for HLS streaming. While a bit more technical, this simply means videos now videos now default to 1080p in the app. You can still adjust this in your app settings to lower or higher if you’d like. As part of this change you may also notice that videos on the Members Portal no longer autoplay. Just hit play and you’re good to go. This change helps reduce unnecessary data usage and improves loading times.

A number of new posts have popped up on feedback.fulgaz.com in the past few days. Keep them coming and don’t forget to upvote existing reports. That’s what helps us prioritise.

That’s it for this week, stay safe and keep riding!

~Erik

P.S. Last week’s cover ride was Azenhas do Mar to Cascais by Shaun Woodman, a scenic route from a coastal village through to the Portuguese Riviera. Can you guess this week’s? It’s a ride from Scotland, part of our December rides drop!

November 2025

Hey FulGaz Riders,

Hope you’ve had a great couple of weeks! Chances are you’ve squeezed in at least a few indoor rides recently, activity on the platform continues to climb steadily. Did you know the most active day of the week is Sunday?

Let’s get into what’s new at FulGaz. The upcoming app version has now been in the hands of testers for a week. We’re currently addressing some known issues and may squeeze in a few more fixes before the full rollout. Here’s what’s on the fix list so far:

  • Missing additional video settings on macOS,

  • App crash when riding a downloaded ride,

  • App crash when starting a section,

  • Misaligned gradient on thumbnails,

  • Username missing after login,

  • Cannot switch users on macOS,

  • Duplicate “FulGaz User” on login screen,

  • Music + Ride playback.

As promised in the last edition, the Gradient Preview is now live on the Members Portal too! You’ll see a new button when viewing any ride, “Neutral Mode” or “Colour Mode”. The selected mode then applies across all rides in the portal. It’s independent from your FulGaz App settings so you can review elevation insights on the web while planning your next session and keep neutral mode in app to enjoy the scenery without distraction if you prefer so. Also, the web version now features the improved colour density I mentioned in earlier update, so it’s a sneak peek before it gets to the app.

We’re aiming to roll out the new app version by end of the month unless we find anything that might impact your experience. So far it’s looking optimistic. This version won’t fix everything logged on feedback site of course, but rest assured we’re already preparing the scope for another version that will tackle more items. No firm timeline yet but I’ll keep you posted.

That’s it for this week, stay safe and keep riding!

~Erik

P.S. The ride from lat week was The Gap of Dunloe by Jimmy Brown, a narrow mountain pass with amazing scenery in County Kerry, Ireland. Can you guess this week’s? It’s from our November ride drop.

November 2025

Hey everyone,

Hope you had a great week full of indoor riding! Quick update on what’s new behind the scenes.

As mentioned in the previous update, we’re working on the next app version addressing known bugs and an iteration of the Gradient Preview. The Gradient Preview will get improved colour density and we’re aiming to bring it to the Members Portal as well. The plan is to get the new version out to external testers sometime next week, hopefully. I’ll repeat myself here but if you’d like to test and get early access to these new versions, just reach out to support@fulgaz.com.

We’re also intensively testing an update to our API Gateway. It’s mostly a technical change but important for ongoing security and better monitoring. One of those things that keeps FulGaz running smoothly in the background.

Plenty of new suggestions and feedback have come through the feedback site lately too so thanks to all who submitted. Don’t forget to upvote existing ones as well as that’s what helps us prioritise. Just to reiterate that our focus remains on stability and we’ll always prioritise performance and reliability over developing new features.

That’s it for this week, short and sweet. Stay safe and keep riding!

~Erik

P.S. The cover from FulGaz Friday #28 was Passo Stelvio filmed by Julia Sörgel, one of the most iconic and demanding rides out there. Can you guess this week’s? It’s from the Crazy Catz Euro Tour we launched last Saturday, Nov 1.

October 2025

Hey FulGaz Riders,

How was your week? The indoor season in the northern hemisphere is definitely in full swing. And I’m not saying that just subjectively, daily activities on the platform have been steadily climbing this past week. Let’s take a look behind the scenes at what’s new with FulGaz development.

The biggest news is we released version 6.0.3 publicly last week on all platforms. We deliberately tested this version not only internally but also with your help over the past several weeks and as a result, it’s been one of the most stable FulGaz releases ever. Don’t get me wrong, bugs happen, but this time we were able to catch dozens before they made it into production.

As is the nature of software development, we’re already collecting new issues. Both from your feedback and from our monitoring systems. We’ve kicked off work on the next update and we’re targeting another release in the next few weeks. Known bugs are being actively addressed (thanks to everyone logging them at feedback.fulgaz.com) but if you’ve spotted anything, make sure to log it or upvote existing ones. Our goal is to finalize the next beta version by early November.

While this past release focused mainly on stability and performance, we also rolled out the new Gradient Preview feature. Thanks for all the positive feedback so far. As with any feature, there’s room to go deeper and improve it based on your input. One commonly requested change was denser color bands and that’s already in the works. After reviewing the lively discussion in the FulGaz Riders Facebook Group, we’ll align FulGaz with ROUVY’s gradient coloring:

  • <0.5%

  • 0.6 - 2.9%

  • 3 - 5.9%

  • 6 - 8.9%

  • 9 - 11.9%

  • >12%

This will allow more visual differentiation, especially above 6% where the current gradient ends. We’re aiming to include this change in the upcoming beta version along with various bug fixes. If you’d like early access, drop us a line at support@fulgaz.com and we’ll add you to our tester group. The more indoor setups we test, the faster we can confidently ship it.

One last note, we’re also actively working through all reported issues and suggestions. Keep submitting feedback at feedback.fulgaz.com and even more importantly, upvote existing requests when relevant. Prioritization depends on upvotes, so don’t just add but engage too.

That’s it for this week, stay safe and keep riding!

~Erik

P.S. The cover from FulGaz Friday #26 was The Balcony Road of the River Lot by Rob Bennet, ridden nearly 15,000 times. A flat ride linking the towns of Cajarc and Saint-Géry (which hosted the Tour de France in 2017). This week’s cover is from the October 2025 ride drop. Can you guess which one?

October 10th, 2025

October 2025

Hey everyone,

Hope your week’s been a smooth ride. This edition is a quarterly special so as usual, I’d like to take a moment to reflect on what’s been happening behind the scenes, where FulGaz stands today and what we’re building next.

As one of my colleagues likes to say, the best thing about software development is that you can build almost anything, the hard part is figuring out what’s actually worth building. At FulGaz, being a boutique, community-led platform, your input helps shape those decisions. That’s why we’ve been listening closely to all your feedback and with the team we now have in place we’re ready to actively ship from the backlog built on feedback.fulgaz.com.

#1 Business

As of the end of September we’re at 16,340 subscribers. That’s a 22% drop from where we started post acquisition, putting us right around the ~80% retention target we originally set back at the end of February. About 70% of the current subscriber base are on annual plans, which gives FulGaz, both as a brand and standalone business, a stable base to build from.

We knew from the beginning that FulGaz needed a stronger marketing motion (covered in more detail in the Q2 update) so we launched paid marketing campaigns across social media and search platforms anchored around your video testimonials and community content. To everyone who sent one in, thank you! And as a token of appreciation, coupon codes for FulGaz kits were sent out earlier today. If you’d like to order yours too, the store is open until the end of November 2025: https://www.santinicustom.com.au/fulgaz/.

The paid campaigns went live in mid-September and since then we’ve doubled daily registrations to the platform. The next challenge remains converting these users into subscribers but our goal is to get back to 20,000 subscribers by the end of 2025.

#2 Product

We’ve made meaningful progress on multiple fronts this quarter. A few highlights:

  • Completed a major update of the FulGaz Members portal backends and libraries

  • Released updated Comps Site which is now finally loading at speeds you’d expect in 2025

  • Migrated entire content library to Google Cloud aligning FulGaz infrastructure with ROUVY

  • Archived all IRONMAN content from the app in line with licensing requirements

  • Ongoing minor fixes and backend improvements

Most of our time this quarter went into building FulGaz version 6.0 which is now in beta with many of you helping test it. Huge thanks to everyone involved! If all goes well we aim to roll it out publicly next week. Here’s what’s included:

  • Color gradient preview across thumbnails and ride user interface

  • Fixed issues related to map display on Windows devices

  • Improved Bluetooth trainer connection stability

  • Fixed Group Ride crashes on Windows

  • Resolved overlapping text issues on Android

  • Various backend improvements around diagnostics and monitoring

A short note on Garmin autouploads. We completed all technical prep on our side but Garmin has confirmed they are no longer onboarding new apps into their upload API. The only viable path forward would be deeper integration with ROUVY systems. This could enable unified login, shared user IDs and potentially dual app access. I’m not committing to this for Q4 just yet but it remains under consideration.

Meanwhile, we continued our regular monthly ride drops, mini tours and challenges. And as promised, we’ll soon start rewarding content contributors too. Pete and Klem will be in touch with those creators directly.

Looking ahead, the product team will shift focus to cleaning up the feedback backlog from feedback.fulgaz.com, addressing long tail bugs and stability issues via backend monitoring and continue optimizing video player experience.

#3 People

Arguably the most important update. As of this week, the FulGaz DEV team has been fully rebuilt. It took us a few months but we now have a tight and focused team of six people and myself leading strategy and execution. Most of the DEV team joined in the last month or two and their very first mission was to ship version 6.0 as our way to kick off the 2025/2026 indoor season in northern hemisphere.

Based on the few weeks of progress I’m proud of what’s been done and confident about what’s ahead. We’re building forward.

That’s it for this quarterly update. Thank you again for riding with FulGaz and for being part of this journey as we scale thoughtfully, improve steadily and build something that lasts. Stay fit and keep riding.

~Erik

September 26th, 2025

September 2025

Hey everyone,

How was your week? Time for another FulGaz Friday. And as promised in the last edition, these updates will focus more on product development, system improvements and the work happening behind the scenes to keep everything running smoothly. Just a quick reminder that content, community tips, promotions and similar updates are now covered weekly in Fulgazette emails. And since the next edition of FulGaz Friday will be the first one in a new quarter it’ll be a quarterly special covering a broader overview.

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves, here’s what’s new from the past couple of weeks.

The most important update is that Beta Version 6.0 is now open for closed testing. This is the release Klem’s been mentioning in Fulgazette and we’re now ready to invite all testers on Android, Windows and iOS (iPhone/iPad). Subscribers on macOS and tvOS will need to wait a few more days. The builds for Apple, Google and Windows have all been submitted and are currently pending release. They should become available within a few hours of sending this update.

The Beta version 6.0 includes the new Color Gradient Preview setting, trainer connection stability improvements, map display fixes on Windows and Group Ride fixes for both Windows and Android.

If you’re one of the signed up testers, you can find full testing instructions and what to look out for on this link: https://forms.gle/JdteAd2v6ovMzApw6

We’ve improved monitoring behind the scenes as part of this release so we can now better track any issues you may encounter. That said, please still report anything odd via the form above, your input is key to making this a stable and reliable release for the entire FulGaz community!

Earlier this month we resolved a bug with family member renewals in the Members Portal. Until now this had to be handled manually via support but that should no longer be necessary. Let us know if you still run into anything.

We’re also finalising the rebuild of comps.fulgaz.com. The current version has been a persistent backend headache but the rewrite is progressing well and should also allow us to improve loading speed within a couple of weeks. In the meantime the Vineyards and Valleys mini tour is still running and available until the end of September so just a few more days to wrap it up if you haven’t already.

Finally a quick update on video performance. We completed the migration to Google Cloud Platform storage over a week ago and since then reports of video freezing have stopped. We’ve followed up with a few users to confirm the improvement. At this point we believe any remaining issues would likely be due to local internet connection and in those cases we recommend downloading the ride in advance, especially for 4K videos. Of course, if you do run into anything odd please report it via feedback.fulgaz.com or email us at support@fulgaz.com.

That’s it for this week. Turns out focusing only on product updates doesn’t make these much shorter after all but thanks for reading to the end! Stay safe and keep riding.

~Erik

P.S. Last week’s cover? It was Conwy Valley Circuit by David Campion starting in the historic market town of Llanrwst on the edge of Snowdonia National Park. This week’s cover is one of our most popular, ridden nearly 15,000 times. Can you guess which one it is?

September 12th, 2025

September 2025

Hey everyone,

Hope your week’s been a smooth ride. Time for another FulGaz Friday! With the indoor season approaching fast in the northern hemisphere, I’m shifting the focus of these biweekly updates a bit more toward the product development side of things. So let’s take a look behind the scenes.

On the content front, we released the September ride drop since the last update and are now putting the finishing touches on the October plan, which will include the usual ride drop plus a brand new mini tour. We’ve also started compiling the November ride list to keep the FulGaz library fresh and continuously expanding.

That said, we’re still monitoring a few reports of video freezing. It’s not widespread, but consistent enough to make this an issue we’re actively addressing. We have a few hypotheses and by next FulGaz Friday we hope to test a potential fix, specifically migrating the content to Google’s storage solution. In the meantime, downloading the ride (even in 4K) appears to resolve the issue in all cases.

If you’re on a Windows device and have faced a “white screen” issue, we recommend reaching out to make sure you’re running our upcoming FulGaz app version, currently distributed to early testers via Microsoft Testflight. Speaking of which, release candidate 6.0.0 is being tested internally right now. We expect to open it up to our early testing group (on any platform) in the next week or two. If you’d like early access, just email support@fulgaz.com.

We’ve also seen some issues with family member renewals. It’s a refresh glitch on the backend. While we’re working on a permanent fix we can resolve it manually case by case, so if it happens to you, just drop us a line at support@fulgaz.com. From the infrastructure side, we’ve prepared a new API gateway backend service. This not only addresses some system vulnerabilities, but more importantly, enables better monitoring so we can track performance and reproduce edge case bugs more effectively.

Looking ahead, I’ll continue using FulGaz Fridays for updates on product development, system improvements and major backend initiatives to keep things running smoothly. With activity picking up inside the app, I think this shift makes sense. For content, tips, community news and promotions, you’ll find those in Fulgazette each week. And of course, the quarterly updates will continue to cover the bigger business picture.

That’s it for this week, stay safe and keep riding!

~Erik

P.S. And last week’s cover? Shoutout to @tracey zellmann for getting it right, it was Torrenieri to Buonconvento by Martin Fazekas. This ride features in the spring classic Strade Bianche and was also part of the legendary San Remo Rally route in the 1980s. Can you guess this week’s? It’s from the September ride drop!

August 29th, 2025

August 2025

Hey everyone,

Hope your week’s been a good one! It’s time for another FulGaz Friday and with the indoor season creeping closer, the wheels are definitely turning behind the scenes. Here’s a quick look at what we’ve been up to.

On the content side, we’re putting the final touches on the September ride drop. The Vineyards and Valleys mini tour is in full swing and available until the end of September. It features eight scenic rides and there’s still plenty of time to climb the leaderboard. Check it out here!

On the marketing front we’ll be kicking things off in mid September. Logistics for FulGaz kits are now finalised and August 31, 2025 is the final deadline to qualify for a free kit by submitting a video testimonial. Huge thanks to everyone who’s already sent one in, this is the last call! In September we’ll work with our distributor and shipping partner to launch the pre-order page. If you submitted a video testimonial you’ll receive a coupon code via email as our thank you for contributing.

On the product side, we’ve rolled out another round of backend updates to the FulGaz Members portal. They were mostly focused on admin and security improvements. One unintended side effect affected Strava activity uploads but that should now be resolved. In some cases you may need to reconnect manually. There was also a short glitch with new user registrations which was resolved within a few hours. If anything still seems off please let us know via feedback.fulgaz.com.

We’re continuing work on the indoor season app release and we’ve published a few minor fixes to our CDN, particularly around 4K video loading on the Members Portal. We’ve also seen a few reports of video freezing and we’re actively investigating that now. Expect more beta versions to roll out throughout September as we expand early testing. The Windows test build is still in beta and it’s already proven helpful as the extended use surfaced a bug we were able to catch before full release. Thanks again to everyone testing! If you’d like early access on any platform, drop us a note at support@fulgaz.com and we’ll add you to the list.

That’s it for this week, stay safe and keep going!

~Erik

P.S. Last edition’s cover was Temecula Wine Valley by Anita Martinez, a gentle climb followed with a fast descent to the finish line. Can you guess this week’s? It’s also from the Vineyards and Valleys mini tour!
