December 2025

FulGaz Friday #32

Hey everyone,

How was your week? Time for the final FulGaz Friday of 2025. It’s certainly been a ride this year but I’ll save the retrospectives for our next quarterly update in the first half of January 2026. For now, here’s a quick look at what’s new behind the scenes.

In FulGaz Friday #31 we rolled out app version 6.0.5. As part of this release we removed support for HLS streaming which means videos now default to 1080p in the app. You can still adjust this setting up or down depending on your preferences of course. Over the past couple of weeks we’ve also cleaned up all remaining dependencies tied to the old streaming and storage setup. As a result, if you’re still using version 6.0.3 or below you may notice the initial video preview during app loading is no longer shown. This isn’t a bug just a byproduct of that change and I strongly recommend updating to 6.0.5 on your preferred platform. It’s not a mandatory update but it’s definitely a better experience going forward.

On to what’s next, we’ve now started work on version 7.0. which we’re aiming to roll out by the end of March 2026. This one will be a significant release addressing a number of known bugs. It includes key upgrades most notably to Bluetooth functionality and a migration to .NET9. While that may sound a bit technical it will directly tackle more than a dozen highly upvoted bugs on feedback.fulgaz.com many of which stem from these underlying systems. Simply put, the app will work better based on your feedback and the most common issues we’ve seen.

And that’s it for this week and for this year. Enjoy the holidays wherever in the world you are, Merry Christmas and keep riding!

~Erik

P.S. Last week’s cover ride was Cairn O’Mount by Ian Downie. It’s a decent climb especially towards the end and takes just over an hour through Scottish Aberdeenshire. Can you guess this week’s? It’s another one from our latest ride drop earlier this month.
