Hey Gang
I currently am riding on a Saris M2 wheel on trainer using my IPad with IOS 26.4.2.
When the first release version 7 of Fulgaz was released, I like many, had issues with resistance on climbs. I played around with the settings and discovered that the Real Road Feel (RRF) was the initial culprit…so I turned it off. With the new release (7.0.6) I left RRF off and had no issues up until today…..where I had no discernible resistance at all whe. I did my ride today.
So I just did an hour of riding the 0.5 mile start of Puketapu Gravel ‘n Tar (it has a flat leading into a small grade and then another flat leading into a steeper grade). It was a great way to adjust my settings and do some comparison’s.
I played around with max slope limit between 3% and 9% and an uphill slope scaling between 70% - 90%
I did a total of 21 rides using various advanced trainer settings and here is what I discovered
1) with 7.0.6, RRF MUST be toggled on or you feel no resistance!
But, here’s the weird one………I found that if you tried to ‘just’ toggle RRF back on and start the ride again you would often NOT feel the resistance you had previously when RRF was on. I tried varying the order of things I did to get the resistance to work again and what I discovered (that seemed to work) is to do this:
1) turn RRF back on
2) go into advanced trainer settings and change at least 1 of your settings….or re-input your existing settings. (I use a 4% slope limit….85% uphill scaling…100% downhill)
Once I made that small change and re-started the ride I found the resistance was back!
Sorry for the long winded response…..hopefully it is helpful to some of you. happy riding.
Todd :-)
