Filming New Rides

I would appreciate some guidance on filming for FG going forward. Previously it seems that most well-filmed rides would eventually be accepted, but now with the limited number of rides per month, how will we know if we are just wasting our time? For example, my wife and I have a vacation trip planned where we’ve already done some scheduling so I can film a favorite route or two while we’re in the area. How should we proceed if the acceptance parameters are not clear? Should I contact Peter and ask if my proposed route sounds like it’s interesting enough to make it onto FG?
