Is this a requirement for login every time?

Personally, I don't like it when programs change aspects of their appearance that work well and don't need modifying. It seems to me that these are modifications based on the programmer's whims, and everyone has different tastes. And all this without considering that those who ultimately use the systems are the users...not those who build and maintain them.

Thus, I find it odd that I now have to log in every time I use the system. I've also noticed that I've had to review and readjust practically all my personal settings; I wonder if it was possible to keep the previous values.
